The Charlotte Pride Band Presents: “Con Spirito”

The Charlotte Pride Band (CPB) kicks off 2018 with a moving performance celebrating the human spirit. “Con Spirito” features uplifting works by Dimitri Shostakovich, Aaron Copland, Frank Ticheli, Samuel Hazo and Richard Rodgers.

The concert is at 5pm on Saturday, February 24 in Heaton Hall at Myers Park Baptist Church, 1900 Queens Road in Charlotte. Tickets are $15.00 and may be purchased at the door, from bandmembers, or online at http://www.charlotteprideband.org/!tickets/. CPB recently celebrated its eighth anniversary and has approximately 50 members drawn from greater Charlotte’s LGBT community and supporters.

Charlotte Pride Band (CPB) Annual FREE Winter Concert

The Charlotte Pride Band (CPB) presents its annual FREE winter concert, featuring the band’s brass and woodwind ensembles. The groups will perform traditional holiday music as well as other selections arranged for small instrumental groups. The concert is on Sunday, December 17 beginning at 3:00 pm. Our host is Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte 28226.

As in prior years, the Temple is collecting donations for Sterling Elementary School. The band is participating by asking audience members to bring one or more of the following items: playing cards, Frisbees, bubbles, coloring books, sidewalk chalk, crayons, markers, jump ropes, Uno games.

The next concert of the full band is set for Saturday, February 24, 2018. CPB is now in its seventh year and is comprised of about 50 members of Charlotte’s LGBT community and allies.

New Events Just Added for Raleigh Little Theatre

Raleigh Little Theatre currently has two upcoming events

The Lavender Scare: We are screening the documentary film based on the same source material that inspired Perfect Arrangement on Monday, October 23 at 7:30pm at NC State’s Hunt Library. In addition to showing the documentary, there will be a Q&A with the producer & director of the film, Josh Howard and Jen Stotka, who is interviewed in the film.

Perfect Arrangement: Bob and Norma are gay, and have married each other’s partners as a carefully constructed cover-up. This dark comedy opens up Oct 27 at Raleigh Little Theatre. In the first episode of our podcast series, Artistic Director Patrick Torres speaks with playwright Topher Payne about his inspiration for the show and why he is happy for it to be performed in North Carolina.

LGBT Casting for Good Behavior, Season 2

LGBT Casting Call

Mariah is the Assistant Extras Casting Director Good Behavior, Season 2, is currently looking for paid extras to take part in their next episode which will will be filming in between June 16th and June 29th. The episode will heavily showcase the LGBT as well as Drag community. Their mission is to cast extras that will represent the space and LGBT community in an authentic way. Some of the things we are looking for are CLUB PATRONS, BARTENDERS, CLUB HOST/HOSTESS and DRAG QUEENS.
